Plantersville listed as a 'Rewards School' for South Carolina Schools are now being scored under a new 'A' through 'F' federal grading system. Plantersville Elementary scored an 'A'.The new system is expected to be a better assessment on the performance of the schools. An ‘A’ means a school or district has “substantially” exceeded the state’s expectations. Congratulations to our students and staff for all of their hard work! PES Meets AYP once again for 2011-2012 School Year!!! The community and staff members of Plantersville Elementary School work tirelessly to meet the needs of students daily. We are to have made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) once again for the 2011-2012 school year. Adequate Yearly Progress is a measurement defined by the United States federal No Child Left Behind Act that allows the U.S. Department of Education to determine how every public school and school district in the country is performing academically according to results on standardized tests. Congratulations to our students, staff and parents for all their hard work in acheiving this honor! WAY TO GO PES!!! |

Schools qualify for a Silver Award if the school’s absolute performance rating is above “School At Risk” for the most recent year, and its growth index is 92.20 or greater for three consecutive years. A total of 312 schools qualify for a Silver award based on this particular criterion. Congratulations teachers, students, and community! |
No Child Left Behind “Parents Right to Know” Information Georgetown County Schools will provide to parents the following information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teacher(s):
1) Licensing Credentials and “Highly Qualified” Status; 2) The Baccalaureate Degree Major(s) and Graduate Certification held by the teacher; and, 3) If applicable, the “Highly Qualified” Status of the Paraprofessional in your child’s classroom.
