MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Mr. Richard R. Neal

My mission as Principal of Carvers Bay High School is to create a positive and safe learning environment for all students and staff while building a community of lifelong learners that will serve our country, community and family.  Most importantly, however, my mission is to focus on the development of each individuals' self-worth.  This will be achieved through establishing a positive school climate by recruiting, hiring and retaining qualified teachers and other staff personnel, promoting civic involvement, maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment and leading by example.

I believe:

· every child is entitled to a safe and orderly environment,

· community and school should be one positive learning environment,

· graduation for 100% of the 9^th grade students in four years within a recognized diploma program 

is achievable,

· successfully preparing all students to enter their next educational endeavor is a necessity, and

· leading by example is essential to maintain a successful school.

In meeting with each grade level, I expressed to our students the privilege of receiving a quality education and the need to prepare to meet the challenges they were going to face in the future. Our children will face competition spanning continents and generations. Therefore, the importance of academic development is not an obsession but a necessity to enter the playing field of a globally competitive economy. 

In order for each student to achieve his/her dreams, we as a faculty have obligated ourselves to provide an academic and social environment which encourages and enhances the development of well-rounded students in academics, extracurricular activities and social etiquette. We will achieve this through utilizing federal, state and district-level measuring instruments, such as MAP, PSAT, SAT, ACT, HSAP and EOC scores to identify specific areas of strength and weakness. We will also provide the opportunity for all students to be involved in numerous clubs and community organizations. 

On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of Carvers Bay High, we invite you to visit our school and  tour our positive learning environment. With an enrollment of 448 students, we offer a progressive academic curriculum, as well as extensive extracurricular activities and athletic programs. Our present focus involves raising the expectations of all stakeholders, thus raising the performance of our school in all areas. Remember, "We are Carvers Bay High," and we are the absolute best!
